Remembering Great Apes is the third book in the Remembering Wildlife series and by covering gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans, is our most ambitious yet. Once again many of the world’s top wildlife photographers, from Tim Laman to Brent Stirton, Art Wolfe to Frans Lanting, have already answered our call to donate images and the book will feature more than 70 stunning photographs.

Seeking a corporate sponsor for RGA

Hello everyone, we are sharing this opportunity with our wonderful supporters in case it sparks any interest or ideas from any of you.
After months of deliberating, a potential sponsor for our autumn events (exhibition and RGS launch) finally just came back with a no. While we still have the funding in place, if there was a sponsor out there willing to pick up those costs (just like Land Rover did for Remembering Elephants) that would mean more money would go straight to the conservation projects, so we are keen to explore all avenues. We hope therefore you don't mind us mentioning it to you!

The total corporate sponsorship package is £25,000, of which we are seeking an initial downpayment on Kickstarter of £8000. The remaining £17,000 can be paid on a mutually agreed payment schedule.
Please do get in touch or pass this on if you can think of any company of individual who might be interested in this unique opportunity?
And in the meantime we are just £396 off raising £100,000 now, so fingers crossed we will cross that threshold soon!
All the best,
Margot and the team

With our total for Kickstarter standing at a staggering £97,639 (THANK YOU!!!), we now know we have the funding to press ahead with the book, so today, that's just what we started to do!
Our editor Ian Redmond, art director Eddie Ephraums and our founder Margot Raggett spent the day making initial images choices and we are thrilled to say that the quality is once again outstanding. The book will be published on 15th October but the work towards that starts right now.

For those of you with images you'd love to be considered, there will be a competition for a further 10 places which will run during April. Please watch out for announcements on that soon.
In the meantime, thank you again so much for all your support and faith in us. We are going to produce a stunning book for you and can't now wait to see it start to take shape.
We've still 18 more days to run on Kickstarter, so please do keep spreading the word to anyone you think might be interested in the book. The more we raise now, the more books we will print, the more money we will eventually make through book sales to donate to great ape projects. Can't wait to do it all again!
Much love, Margot and the team xx

New & unique reward - write the dedication to our book

Friends and supporters. As well as thanking you for your incredible support so far, we wanted you to be the first to know and consider a new and unique reward that we just added to Kickstarter this morning.
In our previous two books, we started with a dedication to both the wildlife and the human lives that have been lost in the war on conservation (see picture from Remembering Rhinos).
Dedication in Remembering Rhinos
This year, for a pledge of £5000, we'd like to open up the opportunity to one supporter to decide who the dedication should be to.
Whether you'd like to dedicate the book to a loved one, your children, particular animals or a whole species, conservationists, rangers or any other heroes you have in mind.
We will work with you to craft those special words and your name will appear underneath the dedication, on the opening page of the book.
This utterly unique reward will live on through this and future reprints of Remembering Great Apes.
You will also be given a pair of VIP tickets to attend our launch at the Royal Geographical Society on 18th October where we will acknowledge the generosity of your reward.
You will also receive a limited edition of the book signed by Margot Raggett and Ian Redmond, as well as a standard copy of the book.
Please remember, if you have already pledged for a different reward and want this one as well, you need to create a new log-in to Kickstarter from a different account or you will lose your previous reward.
Thank you.
Wow, wow, wow!!!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has supported us so far today, it is just incredible!!
When we launched the kickstarter for Remembering Elephants two years ago, we hit our target in 12 hours and I was blown away by that. Last year for Remembering Rhinos, when we hit the same amount in three hours, I cried. Today, for Remembering Great Apes, we hit the same amount, so £20,000 raised, in just thirty minutes! Half an hour! Frankly I don't know what to do with myself, whether to scream with joy or cry!
And now, as I type and still only six hours in, we're at around £47,500 and still rising. Just mind-boggling! Thank you ALL for your incredible and generous support. Just like in previous years, the more we raise, the more books we can print and the more we'll be able to go on to raise for conservation efforts.
Together we can make a difference and your support is going to do just that. On behalf of the apes and from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!!
